Post 1 Daniel Horne

Leaves © Laura Q. Velez
Leaves wildly blown...
By the furious wind,
Rumbling down...
And wondering,
Departing beneath the moonlight!

Spinning around...
Through it's shadow;
In the depth of the night,
With no purpose but running!

Leaves wildly blown...
Sitting hopelessly,
Just with an empty soul;
Waiting for the unknown!

I think this is a very universal theme which is put simply "what now". It tells the story of a group of leaves leaving the only life they know and falling into the unknown. Everyone goes through that process when they lose a job, or a loved one, or just going to a new stage in your life like leaving your home town or going to college. I chose this poem because we are all going to college soon so we can all relate to it.
