Pandora's Box - Pandora was a creation, made by all the gods working together, giving her important traits to make her irresistible. This Pandora means "all gifted." Hermes bad the wrong choice of accepting her into his house, as a gift from the gods, and made her his wife. Hermes had a jar that contained the blessings to god wished to give to mankind, and was instructed to not open it. However Pandora was curious and opened the box, releasing the blessings, and therefore mankind was doomed to the ailments we suffer from today. All that was left at the bottom of the jar when Pandora shut the lid back, was hope. So mankind now has hope to help us through the ailments of humanity.
Evil I'd like to squelch -Disease. The only thing scarier than humans are diseases, and without them, we humans would have nothing to hold us back. There would be less pain and suffering for everyone, and we would save time not having to worry about protecting ourselves from getting sick, or worrying about developing diseases. It would change our society so immensely, we'd progress as humans much faster.
