Pandora's Box - Zach Wolfe

Pandora's box is the story of the world's creation from the view of the Romans. The world started with Chaos and the Titans before the earth, the sea and heaven were formed by the gods. Man was created in the image of the gods, and Jupiter created the first woman (Pandora) as a gift to man. However, Pandora had a box full of gifts that ended up being released to the world. Man became more cynical and untrustworthy, War broke out more and more and crime escalated. Jupiter planned to destroy the world but left Deucalion and Pyrrha to live on the top of a mountain, and our race began again.

Of all the evils to squelch, I would take away war. War is the worst evil on the planet, due to its overly violent nature. Today war has become even worse than it has ever been with automatic weapons and nuclear bombs. People should learn to live in peace and respect one another. People today can be ruthless and it never helps anyone. If people could work together and trust each other, the world would be a better place.

  1. I agree that war is a terrible evil, but I would think that war spurs from other greater evils. I believe that in squelching other evils like poverty, famine, death, diseases, etc, we would be able to solve multiple problems as well as the "need" for war. War is obviously a tragedy when talking about the loss of lives, but it would be much easier to solve poverty and famine in a gradual case in hopes to save even more lives.

  2. Excellent use of emotion in your voice in order to convey the strength in which you feel against war. Though there was a copious amount of emotion you still manage to keep a mature tone and word choice. Well done.
